This is a rare senior role with broad management responsibilities suited to those looking to make the next step in their career. We are seeking someone with 10+ years of corporate legal background to manage the legal and compliance team in Tokyo. You will report to the CEO of SBI Digital Asset Holdings Co. Ltd.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supporting business operations and counseling business teams with respect to day-to-day matters as well as key strategic initiatives
• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide range of contractsw
• Ensure the smooth running of the corporation from a legal, general corporate, perspective
• Coordinate with regulators in Japan
• Work closely with business teams to establish and implement policies, procedures and training
• Partnering closely with internal and external stakeholders
• In the future, building a legal team in Tokyo and Singapore

Education
Bachelor’s degree in law, or related field

Experience
10+ years of corporate legal background. Experience in the digital asset space is welcome but not a requisite.

Minimum Requirements:

• 10 ~ 15 years of law firm or in-house legal experience with a global company
• Qualified in Japan or English-speaking jurisdiction
• Top tier law firm experience or in-house experience
• Prior experience with financial regulations is necessary
• Knowledge of payment laws is a plus
• Advised/worked with fintech firms in the past is an advantage
• Fluent in Japanese, Very strong Business English
